Unplug and Enjoy with reMARKS
If you're powering through several books every month, or savoring that new novel one chapter per night, you deserve to get the most out of your reading.
Keeping track of complex plots, diverse characters, and/or historical timelines can be a challenge, whether you're on chapter 2, or closing the back cover and reaching for the next book in the series.
More than just note-taking, reMARKS helps you to organize your thoughts, jot down characters, and note your favorite passages while in the moment. The design of reMARKS is such that it's always right there, tucked between the pages of your book and available to you when you need it.
UNPLUG AND ENJOY
Many people fall in love with reading because of its simple, analogue nature. There's nothing like putting down your phone, closing the laptop, and turning the pages of an actual book. reMARKS goes hand in hand with that experience.
Some readers like to keep a Book Journal, recording their latest reads and reviews. But sometimes, it can be inconvenient to carry two books around with you - one for reading and one for writing. Again, reMARKS compliments this experience, not by replacing your book journal, but by providing the notes required to complete it.
BUT HOW DO I START? WHAT GETS NOTED?
Just start with page one. Has a character been introduced by name? Jot it down. Maybe take a few notes about the initial locations and impressions of the story. Did someone just say something pithy, or wise, or satisfyingly insulting? Note that down as well if it strikes you.
Above all else, please remember that reMARKS are not a book report. You're not being graded on this (unless you're an educator using reMARKS as a teaching tool - if so, contact us and let us know!).
reMARKS can help you enjoy your reading, not make it a chore. Use reMARKS to remind yourself of the who, the what, and the why. Most of all, use reMARKS to make your reading more personal by noting those things that matter to you.
WHAT DO I DO WHEN I’M FINISHED?
It's always a little sad finishing a book you've enjoyed. It means saying goodbye to quiet hours spent with characters, places, witty dialogue, wisdom, and chills.
reMARKS can help you recall those moments, days, months, or years later, especially if you've borrowed the book from a friend or public library. Storing your reMARKS in the book itself seems the best option. It's always there when you want to pull that book off of the shelf and relive a few pages.
You can also file your reMARKS in folders, ring binders or whatever you like. reMARKS are just a tool, what you build with it is entirely up to you.
